Keukenhof

Day 1
Keukenhof is the world's most beautiful spring park.  Seven million flower bulbs make for a unique experience.  Tulips from Holland are world famous. If you want to see the Dutch tulip fields in bloom, you should visit Holland in April and May. This is the same period in which the biggest flower park in the world, Keukenhof, opens its doors.

Day 2
Want to go to Keukenhof? There are two fun ways to see the tulips --bicycle, "whisper" boat, and plane!
You can not cycle inside Keukenhof park itself, but you can outside of the park on 4 different routes from 3 miles to 15 miles long or the more advanced “Bulb Route” which is 25 miles long. Both sides of the route are solid tulip fields that offer a rainbow of ever changing colors as you move along --there are even windmills dotted here and there that make the drive memorable. The "whisper" boat ride is an hour and a half and takes you around the gardens in the many canals that run throughout the flowers.  From April to May you can book a flight on a small plane to get a bird’s eye view of Keukenhof Gardens. Seeing the gardens from the air looks like a huge, colorful quilt!  But, most agree the best way of seeing the flowers is simply by walking ...or you could walk n water!

Day 3
Keukenhof is a park where more than 7 million flower bulbs are planted every year.  That doesn't happen on its own --many, many workers --along with Mother Nature -- spend many, many hours making it happen --even working in the winter months. Gardens and four pavilions show a fantastic collection of: tulips, hyacinths, daffodils, orchids, roses, irises, lilies and many other flowers. You will be overwhelmed by a spectacle of colors and perfumes.

Day 4
Every year, Keukenhof creates a complete new look according to a central theme. This year's theme was "Vincent VanGogh - 125 Years of Inspiration." Everywhere you look are tulips and other flowers. Though the park is only opened 8 weeks a year it attracts around 800.000 visitors each year. It is without a doubt the best place to see tulips in Holland.

Day 5
Keukenhof is unique in the world and an unforgettable experiences for people of all ages. Unfortunately, the park is only open 8 weeks a year. Amsterdam in the Netherlands is working to provide tulips during the summer when tulips are no where to be found. The Vondelpark in Amsterdam has a new tourist attraction called Tulip Island, which is a garden where people can pick their own tulips in the summer. By using specially prepared ice-tulips, Tulip Island will be able to offer real tulips in the summer. Founder Jorrit Koeman, says they will provide a tulip-picking garden from July 4th through September 7th in the Vondelpark Amsterdam. In addition, there will be music, dance and art on the island.
