THIRD NINE WEEKS

WEEK 1
  DAY 1 - JONAS SALK -

Creativity knows that with courage, anything is possible.


  DAY 2 - MOTHER TERESA - Creativity Quote:  “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.” (Mother Teresa)
Creativity measures the greatness of our efforts by the joy it brings those who create and the joy of those who benefit from that effort.

  DAY 3 - SHIGERU MIYAMATO - CREATIVITY QUOTE:  “I think that inside every adult is the heart of a child. We just gradually convince ourselves that we have to act more like adults.”
Creativity holds on to the child no matter how old we get!

Creativity finds inspiration in special places--everywhere from Paris to the desk in your favorite class at school.

  DAY 2 - THE ARTISTS OF PARIS - Creativity Quote: Creativity flourishes, grows, swells, multiplies, renews, and explodes when you are around other creative people.

  DAY 3 - PARIS FASHION DESIGNERS - CREATIVITY QUOTE:  “In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different.” (Coco Chanel)
Creativity never copies, but seeks to be something new.

  DAY 4 - PARISIENNE CUISINE - Creativity Quote: In Paris, cooking is an art form --creativity brings specialness to even the most ordinary things.

  DAY 5 - THE BRIDGES OF PARIS - Creativity Quote:  Why make everything look the same?

WEEK 5
  DAY 1 - MOTHER NATURE - CREATIVITY QUOTE: “Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.”— Albert Einstein
Creative people know that looking close at nature, really close, gives us many ideas we can use for other things.

  DAY 2 - STING - CREATIVITY QUOTE:  “You can’t save the rainforest all at once; you have to save bits of it at a time, and hope the idea will grow." (STING)
Creativity knows that feeling like giving up because a job seems too big, too impossible, is only a reminder that taking small, deliberate steps will eventually accomplish the task.

  DAY 3 - DR. DAVID DVARELLA - CREATIVITY QUOTE:  "The rainforest is an infinite sea of possibilities." (Dr. David Dvarella)
Creativity saves lives.

  DAY 4 - JAMES CAMERON - Curiosity drives creativity, bringing forth questions that are looking for solutions.

  DAY 5 - THE KAYAPO - Creativity Quote:  Creativity is empathy --the ability to think and feel how someone else feels, understanding that above all "home" matters.

WEEK 6
   DAY 1 - MUFASA - "Look inside yourself. You are more than what you have become." (Mufasa)

   DAY 2 - RAFIKI - Creativity always is ready to learn from wisdom, wherever and in whomever it is found.
THE PAST CAN HURT. YOU CAN EITHER RUN FROM IT OR LEARN FROM IT." (RAFIKI)

   DAY 3 - SIMBA - CREATIVITY QUOTE: Simba: “Looks like the winds are changing.”
Rafiki: “Ah, change is good.”
Simba: “Yeah, but it’s not easy. I know what I have to do, but… going back means I have to face my past. I have been running from it for so long.”

CREATIVITY KNOWS THAT 
Change is good. It leads us to wonderful new people, places and things. You can’t stop change from happening. You have to face it. When one door closes, another one opens. Let the winds change! 

   DAY 4 - JULIE TAYMOR - CREATIVITY QUOTE: "I really do believe that if you don't challenge yourself and risk failing, that it's not interesting." (Julie Taymor)
CREATIVITY KNOWS THAT WHEN CREATING... PLAYING IT SAFE IS BORING...

   DAY 5 - THE ANIMATED MOVIE, "THE LION KING" - Creativity Quote:  Creativity knows that just because ways of doing things are “old,” that doesn’t mean they don’t have value and challenge.  Think of Disney’s “The Lion King!”  It wasn’t created using digital animation… no it was drawn by animators… the old way.  Yet...using that “old way” they made it feel new and fresh!

WEEK 7
   DAY 1 -

DAY 2 - Ravi Shankar & Nora Jones: CREATIVITY QUOTE:  Creativity knows that often mixing together two very different ideas results in something new, something wonderful, something unique... it worked for this father and daughter!
   
   
DAY 3 - 
Troy Bradley, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Leonid Tiukhtyae of Moscow, Russia:  CREATIVITY QUOTE:  Creativity knows that even though it seemed and seems impossible, records always have and always will be broken; creativity always finds a way.

    
DAY 4 - Don Quixote - CREATIVITY QUOTE:  While we are reading, we are all Don Quixote --good readers do more than read --they imagine they are in the story; creativity knows it is the Don Quixote readers who love, truly love books. 
  
   DAY 5 - ALFONSO CUARON: CREATIVITY QUOTE:  Open your eyes --creative people are found in countries all over the world, showing Americans new ways to think.

WEEK 8

   DAY 1 - DISNEY IMAGINEERS - There is no such thing as thinking too big.

   DAY 2 - THOMAS STAGGS - CREATIVITY QUOTE:  "The more that their visit can seem personalized, the better."
Creativity knows that whether it is creating something for a friend or a school project, doing so in a way that says this is ME, makes it so much better.

   DAY 3 - JOE ROHDE - CREATIVITY QUOTE:  "All of us who are designers have an opportunity to take the work we are given and make it something unexpected."
The result of creativity at its best is always something unexpected that takes your breath away.

   DAY 4 - "VISITORS" TO DISNEY WORLD!: Imagining helps us see possibilities, ask the "what if" questions, and think about what "could be."

   DAY 5 - YOU!!!:  You, too, can be a Disney Imagineer!

WEEK 9
   DAY 1 - PLINY THE YOUNGER:  
CREATIVITY QUOTE:  "I have written out everything that I did at the time and heard while memories were still fresh. You will use the important bits, for it is one thing to write a letter, another to write history, one thing to write to a friend, another to write for the public." (Pliny the Younger)
Creativity knows that the best way to preserve place and time is by writing down what happened before you forget…

  
DAY 2 - DR. REBECCA YOUNGER (VOLCANOLOGIST): 
Creativity Quote:  "Study what you enjoy, and what you’re passionate about. There is so much pressure on students now to do well, and target a career. Whilst those things are important, university is a time to be curious, to learn new things and enjoy yourself. Make the most of it that you can, experience as much as you can and follow through on the things that you are most interested in. Oh, and the time you spend in the classroom is only the beginning to the study you are supposed to do! Always read more than is on the reading list, seek help if you need it and there is (almost) no such thing as a stupid question!" (Dr. Rebecca Willaims - volcanologist)
